Highlands Roofing Project

This beautiful newly constructed home was built with little compromise with regard to roofing materials. Due to a fairly wet location and time of the year, the owners decided to go with a premium underlay. “Roofnado” is a top-of-the-line underlay that is a peel and stick application. It is worlds apart from felt or tar paper and almost serves as a second roofing system under the shingles.

The roof was planned to have a high number of hips, metal valleys, and vents to accommodate its spacious rooms, and was a mix of 6/12 and 10/12 pitch for the 6,000 sqft. house. We had a some torch-on portions below a couple of window wells to ensure a tight building envelope.

For shingles we used the Legacy line from Malarkey in Midnight Black, with a 50-year lifespan. We applied a drip edge all the way around and professional metal roof vents were used throughout, providing a sleeker and smaller footprint than typical low-cost vents made of plastic.
